Thanks Mike,From what I've read, the decendents of the first Scotch-Irish who settled in Virginia, after the Revolution, emigrated to either Kentucky or to the piedmont country of North Carolina. My gggg-grandfather, William Mann showed up in Western NC somewhere around 1810. He married a girl from Orange County, NC..not that far from where the Boones were living. His son John (my ggg-grandfather) also married a girl from the same area, and then moved to Kentucky (I suspect to Green County, where he had kin-folk). My gg-grandfather was born there, before the family moved back to western NC. I have visited Mannsville Ky. I suspect my line was decended from John Jr, son of John the emigrant, perhaps from an earlier marriage...since the only sons of John the Emigrant to have kids were John Jr and William. I've read all your posts on this forum and I know you've worked on this stuff alot. Thanks for your help.
