Oliver P Mann Reunion/80 Yr 12 Pioneer Families 2014 Mt Vernon, MO.

Descendants of Oliver Perry Mann/Jeanette Moody will meet in a family reunion setting on the 3d Sunday September 21, 2014, Mount Vernon Arts & Recreation Center, (MARC) 822, W. Mt Vernon Blvd, Mt Vernon, MO.This is our traditional old fashion 'bring a covered dish' and share a great meal in a buffet style luncheon amongst families with new found cousins and old friends.

This is the 80th year reunion as part of the celebratory events of family ties, friendships and intermarriages of a large group of 12 families from Indiana, Allen/Barren Cos. KY and Sumner Co. TN who settled in the SW corner of the State of Missouri in the late 1830's to early 1850's.
The first Reunion was held September 1934 with members of Boucher, Cagle, Morris and Pruitt families.Later it became known in 1946 that Elizabeth Cagle had a sister, Abigail Hewlett, who had ties to the some of the same family members of Boucher, Spilman, Moody, Morris and Pruitt families, thus increasing these same families to participate in the reunion that later also included Bright, Mann, Schooling and Wormington trees.
There will be a tentative meeting Saturday, Sept 20, 2014 to share/exchange family histories, photos, narrative reports, family recipes, if enough interest warrants this added event.
