Angie,

Please read my recent post regarding the possible connection to Virginia with my MANNS family.

All of the members on my MANNS side of the family are far of skin also. In fact, several of them passed as white and with great sadness for them and for our family, moved away from Baltimore Maryland. They moved in order to make a better life for their children. In a few instances, they were not even able to return to see the relatives that married someone with darker skin. My mother, 84 years old, still gets teary eyed when she talks about how she missed seeing her aunts and uncles.

I say all that to say, there is probably some type of connection to our families. By the way are you sure that is Henry Co. or Henrico Co. VA.?My gggrahdmother moved to Maryland from HENRICO CO. VA. Her maiden name was Mathews. I've always wondered if she met my gg grandfather because of a MANNS family that was living nearher home. Just a thought.

Let's keeep searching!

Good luck to both of us!

gail
