Many of us from the Samuel Mansell/Rebecca line know that they migrated from South Carolina, to Tennesee, to Johnson County, Missouri.
I am having trouble finding out about the cause and date of death of his grandson, James M. Mansell (b. 9 March 1859, married to Kate Adams).
James was the son of Burrell Mansell (b. abt 1813 Tennesee, d. 1885 Lafayette, Missouri)and Elizabeth Ann Lefevre (b. 11 Apr 1826 Tennessee, d. aft. 1880).He is listed in the 1860 and 1880 census.
James was married 14 Nov 1885 to Kate Adams in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri. In 1886 they had a son, William Thomas Mansell, and in 1889 a daughter, Sarah Ann Mansell. There was no Missouri census in 1890, but by 1900 both James and his wife were dead. Both children, William Thomas and Sarah Ann Mansell are shown in 1900 living with their aunt and uncle BM & Lillie Mansell.
Does anyone know what James and Kate died of and the year? Also, does anyone know anything about the aunt and uncle they went to live with?
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated -- I've hit a huge dead end.
