Gordie March:
It is possible that Edgar March was born in Green's Harbour and was registered in the Methodist church at Old Perlican. Such recording may have occurred in Trinity, usually some time after the actual event:- thus, we should not be surprised if there was a mixup between Green's Harbour and Old Perlican.
Further, the first Methodist church was built at Green's Harbour during 1884(See Smallwood, Encyclopedia of NL, Vol. 2, at pp. 729-731)and Edger was born in 1814.
I met Edgar's youngest son, Anannias, when I was eight years old. He told me that he was born at Green's Harbour but did not move from Old Perlican permanently until the age of 12.
There seems to have been considerable movement between Old Perlican-Green's Harbour-Random Island by the March clan during the 1800,s. This movement probably motivated by the need for shipbuilding timber.
