John March, Pioneer, Dies at 81
JOHN EDWIN MARCH, age 81, a leading rancher in Potter Valley since 1912, died in a convalescent home here Christmas Day.
Long active in the Potter Valley Irrigation District, local Farm Bureau activities, the Wool Growers’ Association, the Potter Valley Grange, and a past member of the Potter Valley school board, Mr. March was a native of Red Bluff and came to Potter Valley in 1912. He was prominent in local ranching and community service members.
Among survivors is a son, JOHN MARCH, also a well known Potter Valley rancher; four daughters, HELEN FRANZONE of Potter Valley, ELIZABETH EDSALL of Fortuna, MARY LOESER of Port Hueneme, and EDNA ALLEN of Milpitas; two sisters, Mrs. ERNEST WRIGHT of Potter Valley and Mrs. SARAH BROOKS of Ukiah and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary, Ukiah, with Rev. H. W. VINCENT officiating. Interment will be in Potter Valley Cemetery.
