Another quote from the above book:
MUNSELL'SCOLLECTIONS OF THE HISTORY OF ALBANY GENEALOGIESOF THE FIRST SETTLERS OF ALBANY:
"MARSELIS, Hendrick, was one of Melyn's colonists of Staten Island, having come over, probably with others in the New Netherland's Fortune in 1650. In 1654 he had a grant of a lot in Beverwyck. When Staten Island was attacked by thye Indians in 1655, he fled with his wife and two daughters and a servant, and removed to Fort Orange, where he made a permanent settlement. In 1673 he dwelt "behind Kinderhooki" where his son-in-law Mattys Cochraedse lived. His other daughter married Patrick McGregory. He acted as City porter in 1697, in which year he died about November. His wife was Tryn den Berg."
