John Marselis Truax
John Marselis Truax was my gggrandfather on my father's side.Johannes T. Marselis married Anna van Antwerp.I don't know their dates. They are the parents of Magdalen Marselis, (1774-1830) of Dunham, Que. Can.Magdalen married Isaac Truax (1765-1850)of Schenectady, N.Y., then of Dunham, Que. She gave birth to John Marselis Truax (1797-1867).John M. Truax married Mary Galbreath (1798-1877) of Augusta, Greenville (Twp?), Ontario, Can. in Schenectady in 1819.They produced Magdalen(e) Truax (1823-1904) who married Edward Asling (1818-1882).Edward was born in Lincolns, England, but came to Canada as an infant (perhaps in 1818) with his parents. This union produced Martha Jane Asling (my grandmother) in 1856 (1856-1940) in Saintfield, ontario.Martha married John Bradley of Port Perry, Ont. in 1879.Among their sons was my father, Gordon Bradley.
I have a fair amount of information on the Truax line back to Philippe Du Trieux.
Any further information/variations on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.Norm
