George E. Mason, 94, of Lithopolis, died Friday Nov. 21, 2008, at Fairfield Medical Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1914, in Bloom Township to the late Rollie G. and Maggie D. (Jacks) Mason, he was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, and was retired from Curtis Wright/North American Rockwell. He was a longtime volunteer firefighter with the Bloom Carroll Fire Department and was a member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge and Lithopolis American Legion Post No. 677.
He is survived by his daughters, Molly Ann (Byron) Miller of North Carolina, Nancy Lee (Larry) Haughn of Wisconsin and Donna May Powe of Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Norman Mason of Carroll; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Mason in 1996.
Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
