Ulyssus Massey?in AL early 1900s HELP?!

How do you do this when starting with NOTHING?My FIL is Marlin Massey born May 19 1915 to a Ulyssus Massey and Juanita Waldrop Massey in Birmingham (I believe) AL.I know NOTHING of his fathers info, both parents are deceased now and he was an only child so noone to ask. Anyone have any connection to this line? Thanks Lisa
