Hi Betty:Your Abraham Massey is the son of Abraham Massey (Old Lincoln Co., NC) and grandson of Nicholas Massey (Iredell Co., NC).His mother was Rachel Sherrill, daughter of Uriah (Ute)and Judy (Lewis) Sherrill.Nicholas Massey was born in Kent Co., Maryland and moved to NC around 1764.His wife was Henrietta Whaley, mother of Abraham Massey, Sr. He also had a 2nd wife, Lucretia ?.Abraham, Sr. had two brothers and seven sisters:Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rachel, Henrietta, Lucresa, Priscilla, Hannah, and Catherine.I have a lot more information.My line is through Ebenezer Massey of Iredell Co., NC.I think he was the son of Nicholas through his second wife, Lucretia.I have also speculated that he might be a son of Abraham, Sr., also, since he named one of his sons (my line) Abraham.I have searched for 20 years for the connection between my Ebenezer and Nicholas with no success but have become very familiar with the line of Nicholas Massey.One question I have for you, where did you get the name, Obie?It sounds enough like a nickname for Ebenezer that it intrigues me.Do you know when Obie was born?
