I am not related, this is part of my son's Eagle project so I have bits and pieces of information that is related to James as he is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery and that is the cemetery my son is documenting for his project.
He has also gathered information reqgarding all names in the Oak Hill School picture from 1913.
Do you know James or Mary's Ann parent's names?
here is what I have on Dora:
We know he & his wife had 12 children, four of whom were alive in 1900.Although he & wife were still living in Hood Co, TX in 1900 with two of these children, E. M. (son) and Dora B. (dau.)....he must have had a son living near Oak Hill.....I draw that conclusion from the Oak Hill school picture where we find two little girls named Elsie & Loree Massey. We know he & his wife were advanced in age so they must be granddaughters.
Our second link:
His daughter Dora married Lester Loyd Grisham.
I found his name on Ancestry Family Trees but no marriage date.It would have been after 1900 and before 1910 when we find them living in prec. 3 on the 1910 Cooke census.
They had 2 sons on 1910 census. There's a big age gap so they may have lost a child. Will check.
Jessie L.....b. abt 1904
Robert T. .b. abt 1909
On the Oak Hill school picture they list 2 of Rev. Massey's grandchildren:
Lester Grisham
Jessie Grisham
Haven't confirmed but info says Dora died Jan. 27, 1924 ...place not stated
Husband Lester died 26 June 1943 at Hall, TX...(not confirmed either)
Haven't found Rev. Massey's wife on the 1910.
after the Rev.'s death, it appears Dora & her husband moved up to OK and the brother must have gone with her .....Dora's first chid, daughter Jessie, was born there and her brother Elzie probably met and married a widow, Donie, while there too....I suspect they took their mother with them and she may have died there....How sad as she & the Rev. were married over 50 years.....
I am searching for information on the Lester Grissom
family that lived in Cooke County around 1913. I believe
Dora Grissom was quite possibly Dora Massey Grissom
