OK,George N. Stines(Stine)is the son of Jacob Harrison Stine. He had a brother Joseph Elias Stines.They added the S somewhere between George and Jacob.George was my ggGrandpa.Born 1830-1907( per his headstone )Buried in Douglas cemetary in Campbell Co. Tenn. with his 3rd wife,Barbara Pettitt in the Stines area.(Find a grave). In my research I found him in N.C. married in Feb. 8 1855 to Mary Boyd.Betti might be theirs.( Still searching )There was a Betti Stines that married a Noah Luster Stines in Harlan Co. Ky. He was my Grandpas brother.George and Elias fought in the Civil War for the Union from N.C. from 1861 to 1865.I did not find Mary Boyd with George again but he shows up with Harriet L Massey and a family.George got wounded in the battle of Stone Mt. and met Barbara in the hospital in Chattanooga Tenn.She was 13.He went back to N.C. and for some reason left later to look for Barbara in Tenn.(This is per my kin)Barbara was married by then and had two kids. George went to Harlan Co. Ky. and was said to have fathered kids in the Ball family. Barbaras husband was said to have died in the coal mines in Tenn. so George went back and married Barbara and had a big family.My Grandpa was the youngest.(Duley Newman Stines) Im still doing research on Harriet and Mary.Where is your Betti buried? Noah Luster Stines in buried in Harlan Co. Ky.I will contact Noah and Bettis ggGranddaughter and get some more info on them.( Keep in touch-Hope this helps) P.S. Are you kin to them?
