My name is Bobby Joe Seales and I am the ALGenWeb host for Shelby County Alabama http://www.rootsweb.com/~alshelby/shelby.htmlI too have a problem tracing my grandfather, James Massey, born 1859 in KY, apparently moved to TN at a young age, and my mother remembered he had two "old maid sisters" that came down to visit when she was very young (she was the youngest of 12 children).James Massey married in Shelby County Alabama in December 1882 ... and is not in the Shelby County Alabama census until 1900.His mother might have been a Smith, as one of his sons was named James Smith Massey ... and many times the records indicate James Smith Massey, Jr..Can you or anyone help me locate his possible parents, etc.?Thanks!
