I am a descendant of Josiah's brother, Thomas Massie, b.1782 in Fauquier Co, VA. Then my Thomas 1782 m'd Nancy Graham, had several children.M'd Elizabeth (Rust) and had Thomas Benj. Rust Massie, 1820.Thos. B R Rust + Catherine Cecelia Hicks of Fauquier Co. Their dau, Anna Virginia Massie, is my Great Grandmother.

The home near Amissville, VA which you refer to in your posting, is it Meadow Grove near Massie's Corners?If so, I know the history on that particular one.Might be able to add a bit. (And maybe not.)

There was also a James Massie's home in Culpeper Co. which has peaked my interest.Built mid 1700s.? (from Recall) But I don't know a thing about it. I've never been able to 'fit' that James Massie into what I know of the Massie families.What was Culpeper Co. when the home was built, may now be Rappahannock Co.So, I may have a lot to learn about this one & which home place you mean.
