Hi, Troy. Thanks for your kind words.I am greedy, I guess.I want them all!ha haI go from cemetery to cemetery as time permits.I do have a full time job, mostly just to pay for my gasoline, or so it seems. But, I don't mind.I am a long time genealogist, and love the thrill of the dig.I especially love finding a tombstone that is unusual, or interesting in some way.You know, handcarved, mispelled, that sort of thing. One photo that I took has ivy carved into the stone, and real ivy that just seems to have grown right into it.The gentleman that is cowriting the book took a photo that seems to have a face imbedded in the stone. He went back to examine the stone, and found nothing but moss growing on it.Actually, you can see some of our photos on his website, if you are interested. ...

I always try to locate a member of the family for permission, although I can't imagine anyone NOT wanting recognition for their ancestor.I agree with you that they deserve it, and then some.I don't think most people realize what they went through. This project, although HUGE, has taught me so much about our history.
