Hi John,
In my family, there are Masson/Massan/Massaw families in the 1870's in Lindsay, married at St. Mary's in Lindsay, Ontario All were originally from the Huntingdon Area in Quebec.
To the best of my knowledge, the family name was Faubert Dit Masson. Some family members kept the Faubert/Fobert/Fober name and some members kept the Masson/Massan/Massaw name. The first ancestors in Quebec from France were masons by trade, hence the name Mason.
I have Masson/Faubert brothers married to a McCallum and a Doherty in Quebec. My dates do not seem to fit for them to be Lillian's parents. Grandparents maybe.
I don't have a Lillian Masson/Hutton in my records. I know that Nellie was a nickname for Helen. I can't connect your Lillian to these Masson's although, some other names you mention are familiar. Could it be that her baptism at St. Mary's was under Helena Faubert? I have seen that error in their records more than once.
Who were the witnesses at Lillian's wedding? Maybe with that I can help you tie this family in with the others in Lindsay.
Hope this information helps in some way.
Donna Teatro
