Massons of Ireland

My grandfather was born in Ireland around about 1900. He lived in Dublin with his parents who ran a shop or store of some kind. He was from a Protestant family which was rather unusual as it was mainly Catholic area. After falling out with his family he ran away and joined one of the services before finally turning up in Portsmouth, UK. He married and had 4 sons. Ken the second youngest is my father, the other 3 boys were Charlie, Ted and Tony. My Grandmothers name was Kathleen. My father, who is now 83, once visited Ireland to meet some of the family and I believe he met another boy called Ken, this could have been up to 60 years ago. To my knowledge I have no French connections.
