She states she was born Mary Lavania Masters on January 29, 1911 at Marble Hill, Missouri, daughter of Christopher Masters and Elizabeth Garland Masters.She further states her family consists of Peggy Graves Hill, Larry C. Graves, Shirley Graves Montgomery, Carroll Ralph Astin, Darrell Rudolph Astin and stepson Robert M. Astin.She married James R.
