William W. (Ward?)Masters B. abt 1815 PA

Looking for parents of William W.(ward?) Masters born abt. 1815 in PA or VA.
William W. Masters is shown as being in Wheeling (W)VA in the 1840 census and stayed there until his death in 1879. I believe his middle name was Ward, because in subsequent generations, the first male has been named William Ward. Any information is helpful! There is a possibility that his last name may be McMasters, as after his death, his son Milton chaged his name to McMasters.
