Re: Alcide Matherne
I may have found your Alcide MATHERNE in my records. I had seen your post before, but in searching my database could not find an Alcide or Armand, son of Noel and Irene MICHEL MATHERNE. In looking at your post again tonight, I checked my Noel MATHERNES and found that one was married to Reine MICHEL, daughter of Pierre MICHEL & Adelaide GUIDRY. They had eleven children, one of whom was Adelaide MATHERNE, born 19 Dec 1864 in St. James Parish! I had no further info on "Adelaide." And Reine was a very popular name in south Louisiana in the 18th & 19th centuries.
I always like it when I can help a fellow researcher; I like it even more when by doing so, I also get to correct errors in my own records. If you think my "Adelaide" is your "Alcide", let me know and I will tell you what I have on his parents, grandparents, etc.
