Glad to hear that I have most of this family line straight.I looked again at the World War II draft registrations and believe it or not John A. registered for that war as well.At the time he and Favilla were living on Church Street in Loogootee and he was employed by the Reliance Manufacturing Company. He was 57 years of age.Maybe the government required all men of his age group to register for the draft or maybe he was one heck of a patriot.
John Hillary's second wife must have remarried after his death in 1906.His son William Stanslaus by Maria Yoder registered for the draft.I've added these notes on him:
William is on the 1920 census of Attica, Fountain County, Indiana with his wife and two children. He registered for the World War I draft at Martin County, Indiana on 6-1-1918 and stated his name as William S. Mattingly. He lived at 604 East Queen Street, Loogootee, Indiana and gave his date and place of birth. He said he was employed by the National Car Coupler Company in Murphysboro and named Mary A. Coward (his mother) as his nearest relative. He said he had brown eyes and dark brown hair.
