Richard & Benjamin Mauldin of Chatham NC (~1750-1784)
Richard & Benjamin Mauldin owned land side by side in Chatham NC and I have often seen them referred to as brothers. Is there anything to preclude Richard being the father of Benjamin?
In 2000, Carl Mauldin speculated that John M(wife Sarah Lowe) and James M were children of Richard. This speculation still seems valid to me. Has anyone found evidence to confirm or preclude this?
I have not seen evidence of this Richard Mauldin after 1782. Does anyone have further evidence on Richard after 1782? Or date of death?
From a deed, this Benjamin was born prior to 1739.
From census and deed info, I believe this Benjamin moved to Laurens County SC and died there after 1820 and before 1830. He would have been at least 81. I am working on a timeline for him.
Thanks - Ron
