I'm not sure about her myself.Sorry if it sounded that way.An article in the "North Georgia Journal, Spring, 1988, by Michael Miller who was, I believe the president of the Dawson County Historical Society, sid that Andrew Hughes's 2nd wife Nancy was living in the household of Hiram Couch, in Murray Co. GA during the 1850 census at the age of 84 years of age.Mike Miller was a well known and extensive researcher of that Hughes line.However, when I read your posting again, I checked the census and she is listed as Nancy Mauldin.so I too wonder about her.Nancy Hughes was receiving Andrew's Rev. War pension so I doubt if she had reverted to her previous name. He might have missed that since we are always thinking of maiden names for women.Andrew's daughter (although I'm beginning to consider the possibility that she was a niece) was married to Allen Mauldin s/o Rucker Mauldin.Also their is anonother unproved Couch - Hughes marriage in my tree.So I guess we both have to keep hunting.
