Hi, thanks for the tip about Hughes. By looking for Frances Hughes, I finally found Hiram Couch (under a misspelled last name) in the 1860 Murray county, GA census.Sure enough there is Frances (Mauldin) Hughes, the correct age and without a doubt, a connection to that family. Is she Coleman Mauldin's mother, Anna's mother?Who is Frances, the younger one living with Hiram in 1850, who later marries a Parmer? According to the 1840 census, Hiram doesn't have an infant in the home, is she really a niece to Anna as claimed in 1880, and how does that work? Coleman was a neighbor in 1840 to Hiram.Another researcher has identified Coleman's wife as Martha, with convincing evidence.Hiram is living near James B Couch b1826, son of Samuel Couch b1800 and Martha, his wife. This researcher is looking for Coleman's parents.I'm still searching for the connections that tie John Couch 1780 family (Couch DNA group 5) together with my William Couch 1790, SC family (Couch DNA group 2).The more research we have done on Nancy (Couch) Timms Bagley b1798, the more she appears to be a sister to our William 1790, living as his direct neighbor when he gets old and always near William's children too, the Elrods, Timms, Jones and Couch groups.Come on everyone, any connections will help. Thanks, Cynthia Couch Rodriguez
