Karen, I really have a wealth of information on James son Andrew this is my line. I have no other brothers or sisters for Andrew and nothing on his father James from Scotland. I have all of Andrew's Children and information on all of them and their children and etc. The James you mentioned: if he was 25 when he came in 1745 and he waited 25 years to have my ancestor Andrew in 1770 he would have been 50 then and then to have bought land in 1809 he would then have been 89 years old. This would not be impossible!! I have to think that he was at least 25 if he traveled from Scotland with 2 brothers in 1745 and then you add the the 64 years from 1745 to 1809 makes him 89. If you look at the John that I cannot tie in but have a date of 1772 on it could be possible because he would only be 44. The date of 1772 was in an old Bible (I mean old) with the name of John I do not know if it was birth or death. My ancestor Andrew son of James was born in 1770 that is why I feel that it is a brother. There is also a cabin built in the 1700 or 1800's that I have visited that was suppose to have belonged to Andrew and I have never seen it but a lady said she saw the date 1772 over the door many years when she first made a visit to the cabin. Many years passed before I got to visit it and they had done work on the cabin and I have never found the date. It just seems strange that a cabin has the date 1772 over the door and then I find a old Bible and actually got to see it and go through and the date was there 1772 with a John written beside it on a piece of paper. I really feel that not only was Andrew James son but also this John but cannot prove the John and the James has been handed through history as Andrew's father. Hope all of this makes sense to you. I did also find somewhere that James was married to an Anna Williams. This is what I have about the beginning of my line. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Glenda e-mail [email protected]
