Pam,
We are very close tobig breakthru ( we have several clsoe matches on 64 marker testing)...but there is still the need for a detailed "review"of the records avaialble....Glenda and I "think" we have exhausted all the local PA records and probably the same for the NC records....I agree with you that when we find the Maxwell/Carson connection (possibly Lindsey Carson of NC) there will be alot of questions answered....ie links made...
FYI...the current Baron Maxwell of Scotland's DNA matches the Maxwell DNA group 1 exactly...and still very closely to me at 64 markers....his line is well documented in the Carlaverock books.....see Francis Maxwell of Littleton ca 1850....SO this should be used as our "backbone"...ie we need to find a collateral/branching male line ca 1650-1700 - one/several that branches from Francis' line and then we can "zero in" on all the loose end aka "brick-wall" American lines ca 1700.....
I do think your male Maxwell cousins should be tested in case Glenda Simpsons uncle DNA experienced DNA mutations which made him appear closer than he really was to grp 1....ie 2 DNA fingerprints from known cousins really adds to the surety of the statistical chance for a common ancestor etc....
I promise to help you interpretand apply the results....
Our prioroity thou should be finding "high interest" males collateral to Francis MAxwells line ca 1700 then working them....
Lets keep in touch
