Bryant E. Mays --Arkansas

I am searching for any information about Bryant E. Mays/Mayes of Plum Bayou, Jefferson County, Ar. He shows up in the 1850 Census but not the 1860. It appears that his first wife, Sarah Davis may have died between 1850 and 51. He remarries in April 1851 to a woman named Mary Dyerman. Then the whole family is gone, except for one of his daughters, Nancy who was married. Can anyone shed a little light on this guy? I'd be very grateful. Thanks. Ann
