John Paton McAulay, died 2012 from Scotland to Canada
J MCAULAY, John Paton - On Wednesday, February 1, 2012, John passed away after a long, hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 12, 1920 in Paisley, Scotland, John immigrated to Canada at the age of 9. John was retired from the Consumers Gas Company (Enbridge) where he was also an active union member holding various executive positions throughout his 40 years of employment. John will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters Cindy and Sheree and his sons-in-law Borys Kozlowsky and Mike Johnson. He was the cherished and adored grandfather of Jasmyn, Rebecca, Marcus, Brandon, Kyle, Kellie and Melanie and great-grandfather of Violet and Finlay. John was predeceased by his loving wife Violet in 1976. He will be forever remembered and missed by his longtime loving companion Nellie Wood. John is also survived by his brother Tom and predeceased by his siblings, Martha, Bill, Mary and Alec. John will forever be remembered by his family and friends for his wit, generosity, humour, his kind heart and for always putting a smile on the face of everyone he met. The sound of him singing will remain in our hearts forever. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring and devoted staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Toronto East General Hospital. Friends and family may call at the McDougall & Brown Funeral Home "Scarborough Chapel", 2900 Kingston Rd., on Sunday, February 5th from 2-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, February 6th at 11 a.m. with a burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
