Obituary for Alexander McAulay
Alexander McAulay age 98, of Sweetwater, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence.
Born on August 12, 1913 in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late William and Violet Douglas McAulay. Mr. McAulay's entire career was in the rubber and plastic industry, working in England, Australia, Canada and the United States. He was past president of the CT. Rubber Group and longtime member of the Society of Plastics Engineers. Mr. McAulay was a member of the Surfside Rotary Club and past president of the Seymour/Oxford Rotary Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Burgess and husband George of Jackson Heights, NY and Frances Will of Alamosa, CO; his grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Bill, Courtney and husband Gary, Christopher, Matthew and wife Georgia; his great grandchildren, Adam Schertz, Ariana and Thomas Michak; a sister, Wilma Young of Vancouver, BC, Canada; a dear friend and companion, Alice Rogers of Oxford, CT and dear friends, Mary Ann Burt, Shirley Hurd and the Labacz family all of CT also his dear friends and golf buddies in Murrells Inlet Joe and Cookie Belarge, Pete and Mary Lou Leotino, Joni and Myron Harvist, Dee and Steve Kampman and his special friend Nancy Parker.
A gathering of friends will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM with a celebration of life at 2:30 PM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
