Hi Dusty, I just yesterday saw your posting on the McBriens. I am a descendant of Thomas J. Barnes and Nancy McBrien and only recently got interested in trying to go back on those lines. I don't know who Thomas's parents are and I have the newspaper with the article of Bud Barnes on his 100th birthday. I was surprised to learn from the McBrien family forum that Thomas had two sisters that married McBrien's. So I like to follow up and look at census records myself and saw a couple of children for John McBrien and Margaret Barnes that you did not have listed in your posting. I think they have been overlooked because the 1870 census taker made a page numbering mistake and Under page 4 you find John McBrien and Phebe only. If you go back to page 3 you will see Sarah and the rest of the children. The last two are Josephine age 2 and Marcenus age 7 months. Elizabeth has obviously married & gone. George's middle initial is now L. & was W. in the 1860 census. These children should have followed John and Phebe from the bottom of pg. 4 and continued onto pg.5.
