My father was Samuel McCambley, born in Belfast in 1902, one of three siblings of Edward and Elizabeth McCambley who owned the Commercial Hotel in Belfast.
The other siblings were William, who married Vessie and lived in London. They had a son, William who married Trudie, and Annie who married, moved to Canada and had a daughter, Alfreda, who lives in Vancouver.
Samuel, my father, ran away from home and joined the army for National Service in England. He then joined the merchant navy, married Elspeth and settled in South London. They had two daughters, my sister Marion and myself.
My father died in 1980.
Edward, his father, had a brother Samuel who had a son called Herbert.Herbert married Rita and they had three daughters - Claire, Paddy and Sheena. There are also grandchildren. There are greatgrandchildren in our branch from last December.
If this is relevant to you, please will you let me have some information that may be of interest to me?
Many thanks.
