Re: McClanathan Surname
I don't find any of your names you gave me in my research of the McClanathan's. What I have on my branch of the McClanthan's is this:
I have a Deacon Thomas McClanathan who emigrated to America some time before 1727. He probably was accompanied by sons John, Thomas and William and daughters Anne and Elizabeth. The family came from Northern Ireland, said to be County Tyrone and was of Scottish descent. The family was in Rutland, Vermont for awhile and then settled in Palmer, Ma. From there they seemed to have branched out with my line coming to New York.
I'm sure there must be a connection with your McClanthan's to mine, but I don't know where. Sorry.
Please keep me posted if you run across any other info on them.
