Re: Joseph Haviland McCloskey; bPittsburgh 1894, Brooklyn & Freeport
Dear Ms. McCloskey:
This morning, (1/10/05) I happend to come accross your query on the "Genology.com" web site concern Joseph Haviland McCloskey.Although he died before I was born (1955), he was my maternal grandfather.I don't know as much as I would like to, but I can tellyou a few things.
He married Edna Belle Braren (I'll have to double check the spelling on that) sometime before WW1He served in the US Navy, as an aircraft mechanic, in Ireland.
His first child, Edna Belle McCloskey, (b 12/26/19)is my mother. She is still alive at 85.
His second child, William McCloskey, died a few years ago in North Carolina.I believe my uncles'wife, Lillian, is still alive. They had one child, a son, my cousin William McCloskey (I don't know if he uses "Jr.").I believe is still alive, and would be about 60.Other than the fact that he was an officer in the US Marines, and served in Viet Nam, I'm afraid I don't know much about him.
I am at work now, but feel free to contact me at home:
