I can't give you specific information, but I can tell you a few things about the McCobbs in general.McCobb is a rare name, originating in Scotland.However, sometime in the 1600's, there was a McCobb ancestor/family that moved to Ireland and stayed there a generation or two.Samuel McCobb headed up a group of transplanted Scots that moved to Maine and resettled Boothbay around 1730.There may have been some McCobbs left behind in Ireland, whose decendents may have later migrated to America.
