Good morning.I am responding to your request for information on Eli McConnell who was a relative of mine.I am unsure of how much information you want or what you have.I would appreciate any and all information that you have as well, not just on Eli but any and all descendents.
Eli was born May 29, 1765 the son of George and Martha Seely McConnell.Eli and was named for his uncle Eli Seely, who family history has it, died at Fort Stanwix New York (present day Rome NY area) during the French and Indian War.Eli was married twice; 1. Sarah Cummings (daughter of Capt. James Cummings of the Rev. War) and wife 2. is unknown.Children of the first marriage: Joseph, James and Eli Jr.Children of the 2nd, Pamilia, Roxania, Lydia and Marinus.
Eli was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and served with his brothers George and Thaddeus in the 14th Albany Co. Militia. He was given a land grant for his services. It is believed he moved to Canada at some point and is buried there.
I am also sending a copy of this to another cousin, Marcia MacConnell-Davidson, who may have more and better information than I.
