"Donald M'Ewen M'Connell or Donald MacEwen Bhig, known as the Taillear Dubh na Tuaighe, was one of the clan's [Clan Cameron] most colorful figures...."
In the Greyfriar's buryingground, Edinburgh, there is listed: M'Connell (M'Conle, M'Connal, M'Konnil), John (tailor), poor, warrant, road foot[buried] 17Dec1688.
There is also buried there a M'Connell, William, his widow Barbara Duff [buried] 25Mar1672.My William McConnell, poss. of Berwick-upon-Tweed or N. Berwick (close proximity to Edinburgh) was b.1673, hence I'll be investigating a connection of these two.
