This is Family E in the Clan McCord files. It begins with William the Immigrant who is first documented in Derry township of then Lancaster Co. PA in 1724.He died in Derry in 1739.One of his sons was William of the Fort who died in 1759 probably and had survived the burning of Fort McCord and capture of many women and children on 1 April 1756.William had a son that we call John of Bedford Co. VA.His wife as recorded on deeds is Agnes, but many believe based on HH McCord's research in the 1880s that his wife was Mary Ryan; a few believe as I do that Mary was the wife of William of the Fort.John's second son was Robert b. 1760 in Bedford. He marries Fanny Black in Lincoln Co. NC and moves to Georgia. He and his brother David and many of the in-laws move first to Maury Co. TN and then to Bond Co. IL.The Dixons accompany this move of the Clan. All of these families are instrumental in establishing the Bethel Church.A. M. Dixon after becoming a minister went to Grant Co. WI and there founded a Congregational Church; many of the McCords including my ancestors later joined him there.
I can send you many pages probably 200 on these families, but would like reimbursement of postage and copying costs at 5 cents a page for such a large mailing. If you are interested send me a mailing address; it will take a few weeks to compile all of the materials and I may send them in batches.
