Missing Link of John Patrick McCord

I am in desperate search of my great grandfather.His name is John Patrick McCord. Born Sept. 8, 1851 in the Harrisburg, PA area. He moved with a family from Pa to Mo as a young man.He is listed in the 1880 census of St. Francois Co., MO with the Cornman family, in St. Francois Twp. He married Mary Amanda McCormack Dec. 25, 1884. She was the daughter of Peter Watson McCormack and Mary A. Patterson.John and Mary had 8 boys and 3 girls.They lived most of their lives in St. Genevieve Co., Farmington Twp., MO.John Patrick died Feb. 19, 1944.

I need to know who his parents, brothers & sisters were. Why he left PA without family. I think there was a brother, Tom.I have a missing link and am in desperate need of finding it.
