McCormick / Bruton Ties in SC

Back in 1999, I traded emails with Lee McCormick about her ancestor, John McCormick, born between 1770-1772 in Colleton District, SC.

I have tried to email her at the e-mail address I have for her but it bounced -- it is the same address she used on this cite.

She told me that her John McCormick was the grandfather of Rebecca Bruton, Sarah Adeline, Benjamin Bruton, Aquilla, Aquilla B., Harriet, Ferdinand Muller, and William George.

I saved her emails and have just come to them today as I’m working my way through all my files, trying to transcribe everything.

I was very excited to see Lee's email with those Bruton names, as I now recognize them.They were the children of George Bruton of Orangeburgh/Barnwell District, SC, who was born between 1755-1760 and died in 1815.His children were:

1.Aquilla Bruton, b. 1782 + Rebecca Odom
2.Sarah Bruton + Ferdinand Muller
3.George Bruton Jr. + Harriett Caroline Adams Muncrief
4.Benjamin Bruton + Sarah Richard Muncrief (sister to Harriett)
5.James Bruton

Their birth years, however, make them more contemporaries of John McCormick, rather than his grandchildren.

I had hoped to contact Lee to inquire about her source for the Bruton information.Has anyone come across this information or know how to reach Lee?
