Origins of all McCreary derivatives (MacRuaidhri)
Dear Rob,
Thank you for your enquiry.
I have contacted The Heritage Centre at Ulva who tell me that the MacRuaidhri's definitely did come from Ulva and were a well known family. The lady I spoke to directed me to the website for Ulva www.ulva.mull.com
Although this website is packed with information that I am sure will interest you I wasn't able to find anything specific about your clan.
I am sure if you contacted Jamie Howard, the now proprietor of Ulva on [email protected] he would be delighted to search for as much information as possible for you in connection with your family. The island has a fantastic heritage centre which is very likely to have records which would be of interest to you.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help myself - do let us know how you get on!!
Kindest regards,
Helen Dewar
