We need SC DNA participants.........

By Ann Harwell Parker March 17, 2011 at 10:15:45

Hello all SC McCrary's,

WE NEED YOUR DNA test SC McCrary's!!!!!!!!!!!!

With our on going research, a cousin, Laurie, has come up with this.

"First of all, it is very clear that all SC McCrearys/McCrarys thus far tested are related to
one another and are not related to any other McCrearys/McCrarys who have participated in the project. Now that five of us have had the 67 markers
tested, it is apparent that the most important markers for separating the SC McCrearys/McCrarys from each other are markers 1 to 12 and markers 26 to 37.
If someone wants to be sure they are a fit with the SC McCrearys/McCrarys, the best set of markers are 13 to 25 (not to discount the importance of the
rest of the markers).Looking again at our three most recent 67 marker DNA test results and updated a chart I had done previously listing the probabilities for all of us against all the rest of us of sharing a common ancestor from 5 through 15 generations. Of the five of us who have done the 67 marker test, four have idiosyncratic mutations but we otherwise all share the same values over 38 to 67 markers. The only benefit I can see of having 67 markers tested is that it affects the probabilities of the number of generations we have to go back to find a common ancestor."

Contact Laurie at [email protected] for further instructions for a male McCrary to do this test.
