Don't feel bad about barging in. These McCrarys are a knotty problem.
I do know that there was a family of McCrarys in Robertson county Texas that I don't think were related to my George, at least I have no indications that they were.
From "Historical Recollections of Robertson County Texas", Charles Roach McCrary was born on Jackson county Alabama in 1846 to William Henry and Margaret. In 1854 he came to Texas with his parents. In 1870 he joined his brothers Samuel and Henry in Robertson county and so forth... I find that I am starting to try to put together all the McCrarys so I can eliminate the one's I don't care about. Sigh.
