This (1776, Scotland)is not the Duncan (b 1775 NC) who was brother of Margaret (b 1774, not 1784) but on board ship is correct. The McCrimmon (given name unknown) and wife, Ann McRae of Glenshiel, Scotland, married in Scotland abt 1772/3 and emigrated to NC about 1773/74.The father fought with the Loyalists in NC and was killed. The mother, Ann McRae McCrimmon died soon after fighting a cabin fire. The two young orphans were reared by a McRae family (probably related to the orphans) living in what by now was Richmond Co. NC (formed from Anson in 1779).A strip along the southern border was ceded to Marlboro Dist. SC in 1810.Duncan McCrimmon (1775-1835)removed to Montgomery Co. GA in 1805.Margaret McCrimmon married Daniel McLennan in NC about the same time and had 3 children before they relocated to Montgomery or Tattnall Co. GA (Tattnall was formed from Montgomery Co. in 1801).There were at least two or maybe three more Duncans in GA at that time or soon after.Easy to get confused.I am descended from Duncan (1775-1835).I trust this helps.I know my years are correct from multiple sources including members of Margaret's descendants.
