I found this cutout of a newspaper with no date, or no mention of which paper it was from. It was in a scrapbook of my great-grandmother Hattie Widick Patton. I believe there was some relation between the McDaniel family and the Widick family in Macon County, Illinois. *****
THE FUNERAL OF MRS. WILLIAM MCDANIEL was held at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at Bethlehem Church, six miles southeast of Decatur.The services were conducted by Rev. M.C. Cockrum. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Frank Hill, Mrs. J.H. Price, Charles G. Hill, and Clarence Purdue. There was a large attendance. The active pallbearers were Ray Kolp, Thomas Smith, William Miller, Ed Hall, Charles Jones, and A. Cornthwait.The honorary pallbearers were Larkin Widick, J.H. Price, Charles Bowman, George Morris, L.M. Purdue and Edward Deakins. The interment was at the Salem Cemetery.
