Portrait of Com. Thomas Macdonough, dated 1814
The January 2012 issue of MAINE ANTIQUE DIGEST on p. 39-Bpictures an 1814 portrait of Commodore Thomas Macdonough, an American hero of the War of 1812.
I am scanning this portrait in case any of his descendants might like a copy freely by email. Someone in the Macdonough or McDonoughfamilies ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the families. It may not have a lot of genealogical value, but it certainly does have a lot of family and artistic value. I am not of the family and know nothing further about him, although the article accompanying the portrait does have information about him.
My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please reply to me at my email address rather than leave a message on this Genforum site, which I might not see. Note that there is a hard to see dot between both parts of my email address.
If it were a portrait of a Pease gentleman of the time, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
