Henry A. McElravy Jr. Graveside services for Henry A. McElravy Jr., 82, of Mentor, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Road, Mentor. Mr. McElravy died Aug. 21, 2005, at his home. Born Aug. 3, 1923, in Washington, Pa., he lived in Mentor for the past 55 years. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was an avid fisherman. He was an officer for the Diamond Shamrock Credit Union and a member of the Diamond Shamrock Boat Club and Recreation Club. He was also a member of Diamond Shamrock Patent Club, known as the Blind Squirrels. Mr. McElravy was a chemical technician for the former Diamond Shamrock Research in Fairport Harbor for 26 years before his retirement. Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Eva K. (Rostocil); daughters, Kathleen Ann (Daniel) Herrmann and Karen Mae (Wesley) Smith, both of Mentor; grandchildren, Eric Smith, Kenneth Herrmann and James Herrmann; great-grandchildren, Brooke Anne Smith and Callie Mae Smith; and brothers, Johnny McElravy of Ft. Myers, Fla., Fred McElravy of Modesto, Calif. and William McElravy of Searsport, Maine. His parents, Henry and Mabel McElravy Sr.; and sister, Mary Alice Hayward, are deceased. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The Rev. Robert A. Gaston will officiate at services.
