Re: Bridget McGarvey 1912-14 Ireland
Hi,Ijust happened on your query.I have no connection.
The 1911 census for all Ireland is now on line and free.
I could not find a match for Bridget so I had a look at the ship manifesto for May 4th 1914.The next entry after Bridget is for Julia McFadden age15 also from Barnes and en route to her sister in Phila.
On the 1911 census I find a Julia age 15 residing with her family at Barnes Lower,Termon.
Could there be a confusion between Termon and Tyrone?Hope you can follow the next step.
Whilst viewing McFadden census record you can click on Barnes Lower. This gives you all the other families in that particular townland.I thought the mc faddens and mcgregors could be neighbours. Not to be.
By clicking on Termon you get all the other townlands. One of these was Barnes Upper.Amongst the families I noted Mac Garvey------note the spelling.
This could be yours.
John Mac Garvey 73Farmer
Julia Mac Garvey 67Wife
James Mac Garvey 35
Brigid Mac Garvey 20
Patrick Mac Garvey 18.The parents in 1911 were married 38 years with 9 children born alive with 9 still living.Ihope you can mak sense of this.
