McGinn KY Civil War Vet?

Edward McGinn b 10 June 1850 KY is a possible Civil War veteran. I don't know which side he fought but my grandmother told me her grandfather lost a leg in the civil war and he had a peg leg. Her other grandfather Thomas FORTUNE died in Memphis, TN in 1863 so it wasn't him. I am looking for any civil war connections and the name of his parents.
