My Catherine (Katherine) McMillan married Malcolm McGugan in Quebec actually did come from Scotland.I have a copy of their marriage here but so far have been unable to determine who her father was.I think that my Malcolm McGugan came from N. Knapdale and was born in the 1781-85 time period. His father would have been Donald Daniel McGugan b. 1757<> married Katherine McMillan b.1761<> both of the same area. As I am in Canada I really don't know how far away this would have been from your people's area.I have not been able to find Donald Daniel McGugan's parents and they may have come from somewhere else. As far as my Catherine Mcmillan is concerned she was born sometime around 1806 according to the 1881 census and she lists herself as born in Scotland. There is a Katharine b. 27 July 1806 in Blaich, Kilmalie, Inverness and her parents Donald married Mary McMillan, were married 20 April 1772 in Campbelltown according to the LDS M115078 but I have not been able to link them yet. There are two census of the area in Quebec that my people came from and the 1825 onehas two Daniel McMillen and one Duncan McMillan's listed.I had heard that Malcolm McGugan came over on the Rebecca around 1818-1823 but have not been able to find a list with him on it.Several of the brig "Rebecca"'s passengers are listed as "settlers" but no enumeration. I don't know if this will help you in your search but I will look further for your people Good luck Gail p.s.I would love to know where exactly N. Knapdale is today and if there is a place that I can visit as I may be able to make a stop over in the middle of Feb. on my way to visit my son.
